Taste Story
This sweet and juicy lot from Ethiopia’s Guji Zone is delightful to sip. It offers everything we love about Ethiopian coffee: juicy, vibrant and clean. Up front in the sip you’ll have sweet and juicy berry sensations. Then a nice shot of citrus vibrancy will shoot through for balance. As it cools you’ll experience a silky sweet finish.
Processing Journey
After a rigorous sorting process the coffee cherries are depulped and fermented for 72 hours. After this they are thoroughly washed, and then spread on drying beds to sun dry for 8-12 days.
Farmer Profile
Udesa For translates to “resting under a tree,” inspired by the shade-grown coffee of the Guji region. Around 400 farmers contribute cherries to the Udesa Fora washing station. The smallholder farmers of the region are very skilled, and adept at maximizing the favorable conditions. Smallholder farmers are the backbone of the Ethiopian coffee industry, delivering beautiful coffee to their local processing stations. We honor their vital role in the specialty coffee industry with thoughtful roasting profiles that allow the inherent beauty of their coffee to shine.
