Mira Flores Community Blend - Ecuador
“Mira Flores”
Taste Story
A thick molasses-like body greets you, followed by a nice floral sensation and then a refreshing citrus finish. You’ll also experience berry-like sweetness. For some the body will remind you of a molasses cookie. Some might find themselves thinking of their favorite citrus candy. Many flavors are allowed to shine as this brews exceptionally clean.
Processing Journey
The coffees included in this community blend are mostly traditionally washed and dried. Some farmers dry their coffee in the sun. Others have begun experimenting with drying rooms. The minimum drying time is 9 days, but can be extended to 18 days. Clean, floral, and consistent profiles are sought out. This allows for coherent flavors when you brew.
Farmer Profile
This is an exceptional blend from mostly very poor farmers that live off the land they cultivate. This blend was created to showcase their efforts, provide an avenue for feedback and to invest in their farms. An investment of time, new varieties and best practices. This investment gives these ambitious farmers an opportunity to shine on the international stage. Currently, the average farm size is 4 acres for these farmers. Inclusion in a wonderful blend like Miraflores is a stepping stone to a bigger farm. We’re delighted to honor their efforts and wish the best for all of these hardworking farmers.
