Tano Batak Sumatra - Indonesia
Tano Batak Sumatra
Taste Story
This lot from the Lintong region of Indonesia is full of deep flavors with a clean body. You’ll experience everything from spice to dark chocolate. It also has a nice crispness that feels like drinking ginger beer. It has the mild sweetness of red apples that makes for a balanced drinking experience. This delicious lot will pair well with your favorite morning breakfast, sweet or savory.
Processing Journey
Wet hulling is a washed process devised in Sumatra as a solution to the rainy and humid conditions that make drying coffee tough. Typically fresh cherries are depulped, fermented overnight, washed but only partially dried. The husk is removed while the coffee is still soft and pliable; much earlier than usual. Once delivered to a mill the coffee is dried completely.
Farmer Profile
This delightful coffee is made possible by the dedicated small holder farmers of the Lintong region. Six expert coffee curators work with local farmers to develop exceptional tasting lots. Local farmers cherish these opportunities to showcase their abilities. We’re grateful for their efforts, and we know you’ll savor their hard work.
