This small 105 acre farm sits at 1,300 meters in the DIpilto-Jalapa mountain range northeast of Nueva Segovia. loose sandy soil and abundant humus with an annual rainfall of between 1,400 and 1,600 mm. Luis grows a bunch of different varieties of coffee on this farm given its ideal growing conditions. this Natural Processed SL-28 is by a long shot one of the most unique coffees we have ever gotten our hands on. unique in that it is a varietal of coffee that is truly an experiment in growing coffee from Kenya in Nicaragua.

In the clouded forests of Mozonte is a micro climate ideal for growing coffee. with temperatures ranging from 10 degree to 16 degrees celsius, loose sandy soil, abundant rainfall, broad-leaved trees and a rich biodiverse environment there is no question why Luis’s family dubbed their land “a gift from god”.
